It has a two-member structure.

The upper part (500-700 m) is composed of organically-fragmented layered and massive limestones with layers of cherts.

Limestone

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

The Magian Fm lies conformably on the Shut Fm in the Obisafit type section, and in the Turkparadinsky type section, also conformably on the Turkparidin Fm.

Upper contact

The Maghian suite is overlain with a stratigraphic disconformity by the Marguzor Fm.

Regional extent

They are distinguished in the Zarafshan-Gissar region. D.A. Stashnin regards the Dzhiyzhikrut layer as a chronological equivalent of the Maghian suite, consisting of carbonate and terrigenous rocks with layers of cherts, described in 1970 by A.A. Kasyanov in the Dzhiyzhikrut river basin. It was previously attributed to the Upper Paleozoic by Z.Z. Muf'tiev (1970).
